Science Without Borders

Brazil’s Science Without Borders program will fund 100,000 year-long study-abroad scholarships to 3rd- and 4th-year Brazilian students in the areas of technology, engineering, mathematics, and the creative industries. As one of the top 40 research universities in the world, UBC offers select Science Without Borders students unparalleled exposure to internationally recognized faculties, the opportunity to engage in relevant research, and experience life in one of the most livable cities in the world.

The program is administered by Brazil’s federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES) and the national Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq)

Employer Testimonial from Structured Reports Corp.

Dear Science Without Borders and UBC,

Thank you for providing the opportunity to work with talented and proactive students. Structured Reports Corporation’s Depreciation Report Software greatly benefited from the contributions of the SWB interns. I would highly recommend the program to other companies as this great experience not only provides the students with international work experience, but it also allows your company to work with a growing talent pool from Brazil. I would also like to thank the manager of the UBC program, Wendy Kang, as she was very helpful and expediently answered our questions throughout the process. Our two interns from the program were hard working, solutions-based, detail oriented, and were truly motivated to see us succeed. They were very much part of the team throughout their internship and made strides in learning new programming languages. We are looking forward to meeting the new incoming students and hope to work with Science Without Borders again next year.

If there are current SWB students reading this looking for internships next year, please feel free to Contact Us. We look forward to working with new team members who are motivated to create great business solutions. Our interns experienced a fun working environment that in the past has included company days out — from hiking The Chief in Squamish, BC, to Go-Cart racing. Consider us if you have an interest in novel solutions in software, creating apps, and firmware development.

Kind regards,

The SRC Team
